DIG 3-Day Heels Workshop with Sabina Lundgren

DIG is a three-day training workshop where dancers can experience a holistic mind, body and soul approach to dancing in heels. Through learning and focusing on one piece of choreography, dancers are able to get a specific understanding of their body-minds and cultivate awareness in their movement that oftentimes is missed in one-off classes. Not only does this session focus on heels technique exercises to strengthen the body and develop awareness around the muscles used to support heels choreography and performance, but it also utilizes collective discussions and mindfulness and meditation exercises to support the mental health strengths and challenges that are deeply intertwined with the experience of being a dancer. The goal of this workshop is to plant seeds of transformation that leaves the dancer feeling in touch with themselves and provide tools to encourage dancers to express their most authentic version selves.

Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary Workshop w/ Elena Martins

Elena Martins' workshop is geared towards the intermediate/advanced dancer. This workshop features a full-body warm-up focused on technique and strength training. The remainder of the workshop is dedicated to moving through space with fun yet challenging exercises across the floor, leading into phrase work. The choreography is driven by music rather than counts, allowing dancers to explore musicality, syncopation, and dynamic shifts. Elena’s style is a smooth, flowing, expansive, rhythmic, and groovy mix of contemporary, jazz, and ballet, often to the score of R&B/soul music. Students will enjoy a complete and enriching personal and collective dance experience.
